What is the relation between a RedBud tree and Crabgrass?
If you think this Native Tree is the younger version of the “spider-web” like grass you see at the bottom, think again. But what they do have in common is rather a tell tell sign that a window for preventive maintenance has probably been missed. You see , crabgrass starts germinating when soil temperatures reach between 55F and 65F. The RedBud tree also starts to bloom around the same soil temperatures as well. Lawn pros agree on one thing, and that is easier to prevent crabgrass infestation than to later tackle a crabgrass problem after the germination state.
